Anything at all. What's the most South Dakota way to get around?
Why do I ask, you say? Because I'm tired of hearing that the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is the Ford F-Series. I'm more interested in what the best vehicle for the state should be.
Also, if you think the most South Dakota vehicle happens to be the F-Series, then by all means put it down.
And as always...
Choose wisely!
This is !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , a year-long 51-part series of Opposodes where I gather Oppositelock's view of America in the form of cars.

Last gen Chevy blazer. 4x4. Cheap to run and maintain. Decent interior and hey it's cheap so you don't care when it gets messed up in what I assume are awful winters

I visited some family in ND last year. Came out into the parking lot of the small regional airport to an endless sea of pickups. I asked "do they even sell cars here?".
An F-150 would be a good call. Or maybe something like a Tahoe. There's lots of good parks and scenery that have some dirt trails, so it'd be good to have something with a little ground clearance and 4WD. Space in back is nice if you're going camping or on a trip with some people. Also, lots of long straight roads, so handling is generally not a priority, go for comfort.
sm70- why not Duesenberg?

Ah South Dakota...we meet again. Last time I drove through South Dakota I wanted to get through it as fast as possible because I was tired of seeing fields of cows and an occasional farm on a horizon. So I put my foot down and got busted by a trooper who was heading in the opposite direction and managed to pull a u-turn down a grass median just to go after me. So I'd say a Ford GT.

As one of Oppo's only (if not THE only) Opponaut in SD, take my advice:
a diesel silverado on treads! Just kidding - this is a one-off government vehicle on base that I've never seen being driven.
Get what I got: snow is measured by the foot, so a reliable 4WD with off-road pedigree is a good choice.
I bought a Montero with the SuperSelect 4WD system (or whatever it's called). Bulletproof 3.5L V6, boxy styling for big time cargo capacity, 7 seats, 235/75/15 tires that are cheap to buy AND have big sidewalks for the ultimate in highway cushioning. Sorry for crappy pics

A moving van. So you can leave...
I kid, I kid, I have spent plenty of time in SD and like the part from Rapid City west. A 4x4 truck will make you fit right in.

Depends on which half. The eastern side of SD makes Kansas seem interesting. The west half though - oh those Black Hills! Beautiful mountain country, fantastic driving roads. I scared the crap out of myself boiling the brakes on a rented Grand Am on the other side of Mt Rushmore from Rapid City.

True. You can find fun roads almost anywhere.
To that point and depending on the season, maybe the best car for SD isn't a car. We're kind of missing the obvious: for a week or two in the summer, bikes rule SD. When i think transportation in SD the thing that comes to mind is Sturgis.
